Introduction
The DoubleBounce is one of the deluxe models offered by high end trampoline manufacturer AlleyOop. It’s most distinctive feature is that it has two complete trampoline beds, one suspended eight and a half inches above the other. According to the manufacturer, the area between the beds acts like a “giant air pillow”, effectively creating a cushioning effect that reduces stress on the body and provides a more forgiving bounce. Like all AlleyOop models, the trampoline and enclosure are only available together as a system, and they share an elegant black and dark green color theme. The DoubleBounce uses the best quality materials, and the design is very robust, if not a bit complex to install. Overall installation time was about 4 hours.

Trampoline
The AlleyOop DoubleBounce frame is made of heavy duty steel tubing, a full 2.0 mm thick. This, together with the durable green powder coated frame, give it a top notch appearance. The springs are 10” long and tapered, giving it a plush, smooth bounce. The installation instructions show the standard configuration of 96 springs on the top bed and 32 on the bottom. Our testers found this produces a comfortable, controlled bounce, although a bit more muted than a standard trampoline. A multitude of spring configuration variations, including the purchase of “power springs,” are also possible for a different jumping experience. The pads feature 1” thick closed cell foam, and come with a very durable PVC cover.

Safety Enclosure
One of the more notable features of the enclosure is the signature overlapping entry door. This allows jumpers to easily enter and exit the trampoline, without having to worry about closing a zipper or fussing with snaps or clips. The net itself is a large aperture design, made from a high quality weave that was strong yet soft to the touch. The safety enclosure is well integrated with the trampoline, making the pole installation a snap. One of the innovative features is the ball cap design, which not only provides protection against user injury, but provides a handy connection point for the top strap that supports the net. It is important to follow the installation instructions closely, since proper placement and adjustment of the net is key to its effectiveness. Our testing showed that this design held up well under the most demanding impacts. The enclosure netting and poles worked together to absorb the energy of impact, and to direct the jumper back onto the mat. Due to the massive frame, even a hard impact had negligible risk of tipping the trampoline.

Conclusion
The AlleyOop DoubleBounce trampoline gives you more of everything-more beds, springs, safety, comfort, and quality. Good things like this come at a premium price, but one that we feel is inline with all of the benefits that this model has to offer. Overall, we’d recommend this trampoline to anyone who is primarily concerned with safety, but who also wants top performance and features.
