When middle school student Ashleigh Costa wrote her assignment, saying she wanted a trampoline for Christmas, she had no idea that her dream would come true through the gift from
a stranger. The stranger, identified as "Chuck", found the misplaced paper near her school during his daily walk. According to Ashleigh's mother, "He said Asheligh's paper touched hm and he wanted to make her wish come true". Ashleigh, 12, wanted her mother to be happy after what she describes as a very difficult year.
After discussing it with school counselor Carmen Rubianes, Chuck spoke to a teacher about helping to make Ashleigh's dream come true.
According to Ashleigh's mom, the offer was very touching. "I was crying" she said. Chuck had asked that she tell Asheligh the trampoline was from her and her fiancee, however she ultimately decided that Ashleigh should know the full story of a stranger's gift.
The appreciative Ashleigh would like to tell Chuck "thank you for everything you've done, it's changed everything." And, she says, “it is definitely being put to good use".
